Hello Jane has Arrived and Coordinating Solids

Hello Jane for Windham Fabrics

The day has come!  Hello Jane has shipped and is finally available at quilt shops and online!

I’ve been nerves waiting for this to ship…waiting for other people to get it and see it in real life…so many nerves!

Hello Jane for Windham Fabrics coordinating solids

You know I love mixing in bunches of solids each time I make a quilt, even when it’s my own collection.  Solids make everything else POP!   So I’m adding a list below of some solids that look great with Hello Jane.  Most of them aren’t a perfect match, but really you don’t want a perfect match.  It adds depth and interest to have a few different hues like I did in this quilt!   If it was all one tone of purple and blue it would be boring!

There are three textured solids that come with the collection and are perfect matches…if you want a perfect violet purple to match the collection this is as close as it gets!

Here are some other recommendations from Moda Bella Solids and Kona Solids since those are the only color cards I own 😉 :

Light Purple:  Kona 24 Petunia, Bella 9900 66 Lilac (this is more a lavender but beautiful with it)

Dark Purple:  Kona 1383 Violet

Red:  Kona 1194 Lipstick, or Bella 9900 47 Scarlet

Orange:  Kona 149 Papaya

Yellow:  Bella 9900 250 Daffodil

Green:  Bella 9900 228 Grass

Navy:  Kona 1218 Marine (not an exact match but still pretty)

Teal:  Bella 9900 107 Turquoise, or Kona 1183 Jade Green

Aqua: Bella 9900 169 Ruby Ice, 9900 34 Aqua, or Kona 1173 Ice Frappe (I bought this at Joann’s in a pinch and it was a perfect match!)

Yay!! Looking forward to making a quilt with your new fabric! Thank you for sharing the many solids that would look good with it. I always struggle with matching these up – the little bella swatches don’t always cut it :)!!

First you create a line of fabric called Hazel, named after my grandmother I assume, within which is a print that looks just like a blouse she used to wear. Then you create a line called Hello Jane (which is lovely by the way, I love that hue of lavender and the pop of yellow), which is named after my mom! Hint: Sara is a family name just in case you need some inspiration for your next line! ;P (PS – I bought the Hazel fabric, and now I’ll buy Hello Jane because of course I have to!!! LOL)

Oh that is too funny! What are the chances! Ok…Sara it is. 😉

Thank you for the help with the solids. It helps me a lot. I have ordered a half yard bundle and will also order a jelly roll with lots of yardage. I am smitten with this line!! I love the floral prints and they will be my border! This is your best line so far! I was wondering about a thread box. Thank you so much!!!’

I don’t think we did a thread box this time! Sorry! I’m so glad you like it Judith and thank you!

This wonderful information! You’re taking all the guesswork out of finding solids to go with this gorgeous fabric. Thank you!

What a gorgeous line, and the info on the solids is perfect: I’ve already been putting them in my cart so I have them ready! “-) I love the bright and clear colors you used in this line, and I’m going to have to make a purple and blue quilt: I love that combo that you did with the triangles quilt! Congrats on a beautiful line!! Hugs, H

If it is helpful some other colors that I think look great with this line (all Kona, because it was on sale): Breakers (dark, teal blue), Goldfish (matches the orange almost perfect), Ocean (dark royal blue), Parrot (green), Gumdrop and Corsage (lilac/purple). I also purchased Geranium, which doesn’t ‘match’, but looks so beautiful with all the other colors.

I posted, because I had trouble finding some of the colors you listed above.

    • Allison July 17, 2017 at 2:39 pm #

Thank you for posting these Rebecca! You are the best! I’m going to try and get some of these too!
