Is literally these dirty, holey, smelly garden gloves I found in the garage. The kind with the rubber grip & that are way too big for me so they’re easy to slip on and off. They make a world of difference when I’m quilting, especially when stippling. They’re perfect….except for the dirty rubber smell. What’s your favorite quilting gadget? PS. Thanks for all the fall pillow love. And if you make one I’d LOVE to see what you came up with!!!

yaa I have the same pair! So no secret is alone because that was mine! I am making a quilt for the fall I just got my walking foot and it looks just like yours!
Oh my goodness, forget the gloves, I might actually start quilting just to make a gorgeous quilt like that one in the picture!!!

One of my favorites is shoe boxes–I usually have multiple projects going at once (confession time) and I keep all the pieces for one project in a box. Easy to carry. Easy to store. As I get ideas for projects I put the pattern/sketch and the planned fabric into a box. Makes trips for the finishing touch fabric easy, too.
I made myself a pretty stiletto and like using that.
I'm not good at free motion quilting, but keep trying. I actually bought a pair of yellow dishwashing gloves and cut a big hole in the top of them to keep my hands from sweating. They work really well.
my favorite is my walking foot, but i also love my binding tool.
I love my gloves too.. I bought a cute pair from the garden shop just for quilting. they are very girlie.

That's awesome! I use tools on my machine that I swear are more manly than my husbands tools! :) AND I know how to use them!
I have the same dirty secret…but mine havent been used for gardening. They are great and way cheaper than the ones you find in the quilty stores.
I fought getting gloves — but couldn't do without now – and they are dirty… My favorite gadget – Uncle Bill's tweezers – the best for gently removing threads. They were part of a tick removal kit for the dogs!

Its funny the things we do to make our projects work! I have used a clean pair of rubber kitchen gloves before but it got a little sweaty after an hour of quilting. Great tip!
one of my favs… is my cupcake like plastic storage containers from the container store.. great for being scrap holders while i sew.. keeps the rest of my area neat & clean!
I no longer use the gloves. Instead, I put a bit of Clover Fabric Adhesive on my fingertips (it's a fabric glue stick). Wow! It really gives you a nice sticky grip on the fabric. Give it a try – you will feel so liberated without the gloves! My favorite gadget? The supreme Slider.
i tried quilting with gloves just this weekend. they are NOT for me. but at least now i know. :)
I totally use those gloves too. I steal them from Hubby who keeps them around in bulk because he uses them for work. These kind are good became they aren't just the rubber pads on knit gloves.
I use those rubber fingertips that office workers use for sorting through large stacks of paperwork or counting money and stuff like that. I don't like the gloves because my hands get too hot. You should try it! You can find them at staples or other office supply stores.
I like to use the command removable wall stickies (for hanging pictures/hooks) on my sewing machine to be my 1/4 inch guide. I like them because they are easily removable, and they don't leave a sticky residue.
