    Abby bag

    May 6, 2015

I made a bag that didn’t end up in the scrap pile!  Miracle.  I’m obviously not a bag sewer, but this one was really fun to sew… even for me.

I used Vanessa’s Abby Bag pattern and my Hazel fabric.  It’s the perfect size to take to Quilt Market next week and I made the whole thing in under 1 ½ hours.

Speaking of Vanessa I found this gem from our first quilt market four years ago:

    My how time flies!

That's such a wonderful bag! I love the polka dotted bow, it just pulls everything together perfectly. :) I'm not much for bag sewing either, but I'm hoping to change that soon.

So cute! I'm glad to hear it was a quick finish too! I tend to lose interest if a bag starts to take too long.

I make a new bag every summer. I love using them to go on adventures! They hold everything....especially shopping goodies! I think this looks like a great summer bag for this year!

I love your Hazel fabric line. Everything you have shown us is so pretty. I can hardly wait to get some and make dresses for my triplet granddaughters.

Adorable! Although my OCD wants to even up the ties of your bow... I love every bit of it. I can't wait to get my hands on your fabric. So so cute.

Beautiful Fabric! I too made this same bag, but modified the pattern using charm squares, added batting and quilted the bag, adjusted the handles for additional reinforcement to hold my lunch, water bottle, shoes, etc...to carry to work. more like a tote than a bag. IT is an adorable bag, but sometimes i don't always go by a pattern :)

The bag is so great. Your entire body looks so slim and perfect! I totally object to your comment comparing your size to Vanessa's. Sometimes the tiny people of the world hate being tiny. One year when I was eating this totally healthy diet, I lost lots of weight. The things people said to me were so funny, but weird; "You look like a 12 year old boy."
"Oh, I thought from the back you were one of the little 12 year olds." "Oh, have you been really sick? You have lost a lot of weight!" It went on and on. I just laughed and told my family. We are not our size, whatever size we happen to be. We are our souls!
