This was such a fun quilt to make. I had a few quiet hours to sew and there’s nothing like a simple quilt for some (semi) instant gratification. It used up some of the small strips hidden in my fabric piles I couldn’t bear to throw into the scrap bin just yet.
I can’t wait to quilt this one…I’m thinking free motion swirls…maybe even small loops. I have the tutorial almost all written up so I’ll get it posted soon…but for now we are headed to Yellowstone! It’s just over an hour from us and the ice cream cones are worth the trip. :)

Beautiful colors! Isn't it great when we can sew a top start to finish? Yes, swirls or loops will soften the lines... Enjoy your trip!

Fun quilt, and another great idea for a quick baby quilt gift!! Love the bright colors and that neat insertion of the other strips: keeps it interesting!! One hour away; I love that part of Idaho!! I miss those college days: I've always said that eastern Idaho has the most wonderful summers!! Hope you had fun at Yellowstone (tell us where you get the ice cream cones!!)

So simple and so effective - which is usually the way. I find simple and quick is the method I use for all my crafts these days. Finding I finish things and enjoy doing them more.
