I finished this quilt just in time for the cut flowers to be in full bloom. I like this top even more now that’s completed…all of the colors look a better together and not so busy after a little break from it.
I backed this one with a double sided minky fabric without any batting. I have more info on how I do that at this post.
For some reason this one gave me trouble while I was quilting. The minky had extra static, and I felt like I was pulling and pushing it through my machine…and then I was annoyed… so I just pushed and pulled harder and made a lot of mistakes a long the way. ;)
Looking back it probably would have been 100x easier to quilt this one upside-down! Luckily the result was worth it and it is so so so so so so so so soft.

Really like the fabrics and the pattern. And your choice of backing. Very nice!
Kirsty@Bonjour
I wonder if one of those anti-static sprays would have helped? It looks great anyway!
Diane-crewe
well looks as if your hard work was worth it .. no mistakes just design opportunities xx

I really love the finished quilt! Worth the struggle! x
Megan
I love this! It's taken me a while to get into Briar Rose, and this quilt makes me love it even more!
Jennifer Bell
The quilt is beautiful and looks soo soft. Thanks for the tips for working with minky. I am currently working on my first minky baby quilt, using flannel to make it a bit heavier. Scary!

What did you mean by the colors meshed together better this time around?
Wanda
The quilt is lovely. I've not used minky as a backing, so good to know. Briar Rose is on my "to get" list. I'm envious of your zinnias!
Valerie
This is the best use of Briar Rose that I have seen so far (in my opinion anyway). The pattern is perfect for the fabrics. :-) Very lovely!
Elsa
Love how your quilt turned out! Really like all the solids used and the wonkiness of the blocks!
Tina
I love your blocks. How did you do them? With a kind of wonky stack 'n whack approach? I'd love to give this a try some day.
Jocelyn
Love it! I've got my fabric, now to cut into it. :) Have a great day!!
Sheila
What a beautiful quilt. Love the fabric collection!

That's beautiful, I love it.

I'm almost finished with a Briar Rose top and have sort of fallen out of love with it. It's sad because I waited so impatiently for the fabric to come out. This inspires me to finish it up and then decide how I feel!
Colleen
I'm not a fan of Briar Rose (too busy for my taste) but I like this quilt because the pattern saves it from being "in-your-face", if you know what I mean. Good job with a difficult fabric.
Graciela
Beautiful color combo!

What a pretty quilt and I love how the blocks have different size squares in different positions in them, kept my eyes moving which is meant to be a good thing, right?
pandchintz
Gorgeous....and extra cuddly too!!

You did a beautiful job , minty can be difficult.

It's adorable, that's for sure! I have two charm packs coming for a start. I want to order extra fabric but not just yet. My grandchildren are older now so may have to give it away.

This is such an adorable quilt! Your flowers are absolutely beautiful! I grew a couple of zinnias this year, but will try them from seed next spring. :o)

Came out great. I'm wondering if the vast amounts of humidity we are having this summer was messing with minky?
Kay
I love everything I have seen in Briar Rose, this is such a snuggly quilt.
sally
I think it may of been said before but I love this! Is there any way you'd share the fabric and design of this quilt? I like how the fabric all works so well together.

I just finished my first quilt.. and I am thrilled to have found yours! Absolutely beautiful. I also appreciate you you used the flowers for your inspiration! I used my Color911 app to plan my colors, made it easy and fun for me. Can't wait to see your next project, well done!
