Today I took the kids to the beach and I am exhausted from being in the sun all day. The beach has a way of wiping me out and energizing me all at the same time.
I made this quilt 2 days before quilt market. I started to panic that I
needed one more quilt to take. I probably didn’t need another quilt to take,
but I was glad I had it.
This pattern is Hoopla and the fabric is Hazel. I quilted it myself in a
swirly design. You can always tell when I started to lose patience with
quilting because the stitches get really big as I go faster and faster. It’s a
good thing I’m not a longarm quilter. ;)
My kids have 11 more days of school and I could not be more ready for them to
be done.
If you’re worried about what to do with your kids over the summer this is a really great post to read, and it’s not about
crafts or ways to fill the days. Bring on summer!

I love this quilt. You did a great job. It caught my eye when I was reading on bloglovin. The colors are perfect. I also read your blog about children and summer and I totaly agree. My best memories of childhood days were the days I found something to do on my own because I was " bored". We can't entertain them all the time. I usually give them them hugs and loving when they complain they are bored and send them on their way to their own imagination.
Always In Stitches
Yay. Summer can be fun for kids. This is the time for them to learn who they are and what they like to do. I loved summer with the kids.

I like this fabric. It is such a cute quilt. Nicely done as always.

Love the quilt! (Can't believe you made it in 2 days - wow!) and I love your blog. It always inspires me to go sew. Thank you for all the fun, the laughs, and the "being real". Your fabric lines are so "me" also!

Love this quilt! Would you consider it is for an advanced quilter? Any special ruler you recommend? or need

I am so looking forward to Hazel being released. I love the fabric line. I was planning on making both Promenade and Frolic, but see now that I will have to add Hoopla to the list. Thank you for all that you create and share with us.

2 days? Wow - that puts me to shame....it takes me MONTHS! Super cute quilt...

I just love this quilt!! The pattern is great and Hazel is just beautiful- I love these colors together, so cool and summery!! And to finish this in a couple of days- WOW!!:)

Martha it helps to have a 60 degree triangle ruler, or you can use the template in the pattern...but triangle rulers are easy to find and inexpensive so I'd recommend that.

I should have added that I really HATE making a quilt in 2 days...it's sewing torture. I try to avoid it whenever possible...or when I procrastinate until the day before. ;)

Sure do love all the vibrant colors that you used. Can't believe you did it in such a short time span. Thanks for sharing.

I love Hoopla in Hazel!! I love this pattern and the secondary pattern of stars that the white triangles create! :-) WHEN is Hazel going to be available? And I read the article that you recommended: it was good. My kids are too old to benefit from that now, but I'll have to remember it when I have little grandkids! I read your comment about "sewing torture". I'd have a hard time getting a quilt done in 2 days for the same reason! :-D Have a great day! Hugs, H

Thanks for posting the link to that article about summer and kids. I NEEDED that. For some reason it helps to hear someone else tell me that it's okay not to entertain my kids every minute...

Ditto what Amy said; I'm so glad you posted that article. Also, these colors are so beautiful! I always wait with bated breath for your fabric lines to come out (at least, I did with the first two) but I'm super excited for these colors! They gray, aqua, blue, and red just look perfect. And what a fun quilt design!
