Feelin’ Hot Hot Hot

Its record HOT today in the Seattle area.  We filled up the kiddy pool in anticipation, but now even that water is way too hot so we’re back indoors enjoying AC.  The heat has given me plenty of time to unpack and read a couple  magazines…..including this one, with great ideas in it from some of my favorite designers/fellow bloggers. IMG_0322 And I pulled out some fabrics for my next quilt.  I’ll admit I’ve totally lost my sewing mojo, hopefully it comes back soon since this blog is called cluck.cluck.SEW.  That could be a problem.   I bought that top little car fabric during our trip, I don’t know what its called but I think its adorable.   It was expensive so I only bought a little bit, but now I’m kicking myself and wish I had more.    IMG_0327 And last but not least flowers from the garden I’ve been playing with.   One of my favorite things about this area is everything grows…..especially weeds. You are so lucky to have AC! We spent the day at the lake to get out of the hot house. I hope Seattle cools down soon!

Lucky! I just talked to my sister in Bremerton and she's stuck in base housing without AC. It's not much better here in Oklahoma. I'm soooo ready for fall.

So jealous of that floral bouquet. Only thing I'm having success with is my patch of cosmos. That fabric pile is pretty yummy too.

My cool wind thoughts are coming your way! I live in Aberdeen, we have had a nice cool breeze this afternoon. But, after living in Phoenix for 22 years, 104 ain't bad. Keep the curtains drawn, windows closed and drink lots of water.

Thank you for your wonderful blog. I sew all the time, and often get some inspiration from your pictures and ideas!

I'm trying to decide whether I love the cars or the flowers more. Tough choice!

I've got no mojo right now either. It comes in waves for me and when it hits it slams into me – so beware!

Oh my, I was about to write a post about losing my sewing mojo too!
Stay cool- it's hot but rainy here in Ohio-

Hope you cool down soon, I can't stand hot,hot weather. No worries of that here the nights have been single digits and alot of gardens are stunted from the cooler temps this year.

Sometimes it's just too hot to sew, and I hate it too. What is that crazy gorgeous orange flower you have there? Must plant some of those!

YOU HAVE THOSE FLOWERS IN YOUR GARDEN? SERIOUSLY? Wow. Glad you are in Seattle and getting settled. It is hot and rainy here in Amishland. Good luck in Seattle!

Love the flowers…very nice! I need to get my quilting mojo back as well. Good luck, maybe after your heat wave is done. :)

Welcome to Seattle. Sorry you had to arrive at the hotest time of the century. Glad you have A/C. Many don't. Those of us that have it know we're lucky. Have fun checking out all the great quilt stores in the area. If this isn't a short term stay and you're here for at least a year, you'll have to attend the huge sewing & stitchery expo in Puyallup next March. Google it and you'll get all the info. It is huge! Be sure and visit the Pike Place Market. There's a quilt shop downstairs that's cute and fun to visit. I could go on and on (I'm a native), but you'll get the hang of things soon. Again, welcome to Puget Sound!

I have no sewing-mojo either. It's too hot. We hit 112 on Wednesday. WAY too hot…and we were at a pizza parlor that night – must have been 120 in there! I love summer, but in some ways look forward to fall so I want to sew again. :)

Look at those dahlias! My favourite.

Wow! The heat KILLED a lot of my garden. Well, at least sunburned it. So bummed. Finally with some cooler weather, it's starting to look a little better. But my flowers are toast. I LOVE this arrangement. LOVE the photo too! You are so inspiring!
