Spring Fling Modern Baby Quilt & Pattern

    Jan 25, 2010

This is what I did this weekend: IMG_2267-9

I made a quilt & a pattern to match. This is one of my very favorite patterns for baby quilts because it looks harder than it is, it’s the perfect size to grow with baby, it works great for a boy or a girl, and can make a really cute eye spy quilt. I made this quilt using the same pattern. The quilt pattern is at the link below, keep in mind it's a huge file you might not want to print, and it's easy enough you could probably skip printing it.  It’s 29 pages stuffed full of pictures & instructions for making this quilt from start to finish, including tutorials on basting, free motion quilting, and binding (hand & machine sewn). There’s also some sizing instructions at the end included if you want to make this baby quilt into a toddler bed sized quilt.

Very cute! I love the fabrics you chose - my 'go-to' quilt for babies is very similar to this, except i typically only do 2 "layers" whereas you do 3

It's beautiful and you're right, it does look very nice on your wall. I think you should keep it there. It's very springy. Love it!

aaahhh!!!great quilt! I have been trying to write a pattern to sell in my shop too, and it makes my head hurt as well. It's so hard to write things that are second nature.

You and Amanda at crazymomquilts have inspired me to dust off my sewing machine and start quilting. Your work is amazing. I hope you don't mind that I linked your blog to my new one. Thanks for all the neat ideas.
