Keepin’ it real

IMG_2402 I call this the post-moving-pit.  It will be the guest room/ sewing room, the catch is whoever comes and visits first has to clean it (anybody?).  I have managed to sew up a couple pillow covers in here despite all the mess though.  When there’s a will there’s a way, and pillow covers were a necessity.  IMG_2340

    Definitely a necessity!
When I moved together with my boyfriend, the first thing I did was sew the curtains and pillow covers. Which drove him crazy because all the rooms were covered with boxes and stuff. But he admited later that relaxing was just so much easier with something fluffy in your back and feet on the boxes :)

Moving is no fun – I can't blame you for needing a little sewing therapy! The pillow covers look great – I love that fabric!

Hate to be a show off, but that is NOTHING compared to our craft/den/guest/ironing/hide it from the kids room ;o) Those pillow covers are cute!

I'd be glad to come and help clean up! I'm all about organizing someone else's stuff! hehe Kindof like when my mom loves to come to my house and do my laundry. It's always different at someone else's house! Good luck! You need to be resting getting ready for that baby! Take care. Jenn

Having recently moved from Cleveland, I totally understand a room like that. I have one that is just boxes – no hope of it ever becoming a guest room. And, my master bedroom is also full of boxes, my sewing area and our exercise equipment.

That mess looks familiar… our dining room looked like that for ages after we moved in lol My husband couldn't understand how I was decorating the living room while there were still boxes lying around!

In the middle of getting ready to move next week too and also can't seem to stop sewing. My sewing machine will definitely be one of the last things to be packed. Sweet fabric choices by the way!

Love the pillow covers … and your honesty :).

I think we have the same *lovely* ironing board cover although yours looks much cleaner than mine. It's on my list of things to-do … re-cover in cute fabric :).

My husband and I moved about two weeks ago, and I have a room that looks EXACTLY like that!

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one…

I have a room that looks similar but without the benefit of having just moved as an excuse.

    Welcome home to Cleveland!
Dishwasher or not and cleaned sewing/guest room or not, you're here and you're home.
    Glad I found your blog.

I can relate completely as we are actually one step behind you. Been in the house 2 weeks already but the household goods haven't been delivered. Our guest room is the 16 yr olds bedroom so… Any day now we will be filled to the rafters w/ boxes… Yard sale look out!

In the meantime I love your pillows! Do you mind my asking where you got the fabric? Is the polka dot pillow orange? Or red? (I can't tell because of the lighting in here right now.)

Happy unpacking and hope your enjoy your stay in Ohio!

My room looked that way until we finally moved into our new place. Now it's all organized that I can't find anything! Too funny….
