Its been awhile since I finished a quilt and I had almost forgot how much fun it is! I put off quilting it because I knew the straight stitch quilting would take me awhile, but now I’m glad its complete and ready to use. The backing (I forgot to take a pic) is a denim colored broadcloth. The total I spent on the backing………… $3.50!!! I love making quilts, but the batting, backing and binding always get spendy. Even though I love a pieced back, I rarely look at the back once its done. So here’s to cheap backings, and I LOVE the way it washed up really soft. The binding is from the Wee Play line, and I love those letters popping up here and there along the binding! This will be such a fun quilt for my son to find the letters and numbers in.
I did a grid pattern quilting, a lot like I did on this quilt.
And its already getting good use watching Chicken Little for the 37th time.
Finished
This quilt is 52″ by 62″ finished. And I had a couple of questions about it I couldn’t find a way to reply too. Its from a Jelly roll so all the strips are 2.5″ wide and there is a very similar published pattern here.

That is SO pretty!!!
I love it! The quilting looks great.
What a fabulous quilt! Love the binding. I really need to quilt some tops I have had hanging around for years. Why is it that I keep ignoring them?
Allison it's beautiful, I love when people make boy things! Your son will love this forever.
Beautiful quilt! I love the Wee Play line!
I love that binding! I am always afraid to use prints for binding, but that looks so fabulous!
Beautiful. I can't believe it's just one jelly roll. And $3.50 for the backing–awesome!
Verrry cute!
Chicken Little for the the 37th time TODAY, right? I know how that is!
I love the quilt, it's perfect!!!

BEE-U-ATIFULL!!!
It's awesome as usual, Miss Allison! Don't you just love this moda line?? I finally found some of the pez prints at a local shop! woot wooot!
What a wonderful quilt to grow up under. I want one of these for my own. Just fabulous!
that is awesome! Inspires me to want to make a quilt. Great job!
I just love this quilt. Love the colors, fabrics and the pattern. What a hit. I can't wait to make the pattern. Thanks for sharing.
so adorable… i'm a big American Jane fan and i love simple quilts so this is like a double win to me!
Fantastic!!
Wow! It is beautiful and fun to see! If I were a kid, I would stare at it and be amazed of the letters and #'s. I did that with my grandma's quilt, she made a quilt with state flowers in the squares, then hand sewed the flower's names! I remember staring at it for hours! You are so creative! :)
It's just fabulous! Instant heirloom. Well, kind of instant… Other than the hours, days, and weeks it took to make, of course.
Looks awesome…congrats on getting it done.
Wow – it is gorgeous! The colors are so vibrant. REally lovely!
It looks great- and I totally understand the watching of the movies for the 37th time! ;)
Did I miss a post somehwere about your etsy shop closing?
This is really cute – and the quilting is perfect. Thank for sharing it. Other than the binding and backing, did you get all those blocks out of one jelly roll?
Love it , what a great quilt !
It is so summery. And creative use of a jelly roll. I have my first charm pack on the way and I've challenged myself to not just use it as squares.
LOVE!
It looks awesome, great job!
that wee play fabric looks so cute made up like this…almost as cute as that little guy!
fab-u-lous!!! i love your binding choice!
I love it!
Gorgeous. Coveting all those lovely fabrics.
I'd love to get a copy of this pattern (and the one that's similar to yours that you've provided a link to doesn't seem to be available anymore) – you don't have one for sale? Thanks.
