I fished up the 9 patch binding today and have it fresh out of the dryer. Remember how much I didn’t want to quilt this baby? Well my sweet blogging friend Christina ( The Sometimes Crafter) saved my life and did it for me on her long arm. She did such a good job, she quilted it in a loopy pattern that fits the retro 9 patch perfectly. I told her thank you but I still feel like I should go clean her toilets and empty her dishwasher. I’ll let you know if she ever decides to start a little quilting business….I’ll be her best customer for sure.
My brother is my new designated quilt holder-upper. Unfortunately it takes double the time to get a good picture because half of them look like the picture below. I threatened him with putting his picture on the blog, and he didn’t believe me, and so I did.
This quilt looks fantabulous across the bottom of my bed. I give it a week before there are unidentified stains scattered here and there, but that just gives it more character right? Hope you all have a great weekend, our new Goodwill store just opened so I will be barging my way through the store throwing as much used crap in my cart as possible just to join in the frenzy.
I'm so happy you shared the completion of this one. You have a good friend, and a funny brother. Thanks for sharing him, too!
: } pokey
It turned out really good. When it was on MY Long arm it looked cute but it is really cute now that it is all done. It makes me want to do one. I have quite a stash of Flea market fancy that would look really cute as a nine patch.
beautiful!!
Of course those stains and spots give it character. It makes it look loved!! =) Beautiful job and what a super nice friend!! The lady teaching me (a good friend) just started her own quilting business and the machine is a monster! lol
I love the way that it turned out. Your choice of fabrics is just perfect!
AWESOME QUILT!! You've given me the push to get on with my 9 patch.
Thank you,
Carolyn*

just beautiful Allison. Wanda Bublik (in the ward) just let me borrow her Bernina and the Stitch regulator…you serioulsy need one. it's amazing. I finally finished "stippling" Gracie's quilt…now to bind it. Miss my quilting buddy. Hugs.
So beautiful!! Love it :) I don't have my husband hold my quilts anymore because he gets really grouchy about 3 pictures in and I end up just wanting to kick him hehe It's best for the marriage that he's excused from it.
This is really pretty! I like how you laid it out.
Cute pic of the brother. LOL!
You showed him! :o)
Love the quilt…looks beautiful!
lol, silly brother ;-)
Quilt is gorgeous..the more I see these the more I want to do one for myself!
this is gorgeous! I really love it…I need to get started on mine!
The 9-patch is wonderful. The quilting is great. Love your blog. Nancy P.
This turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
Looks great! Good job on the quilting team work. If you find someone who bastes, I'm very interested. :)
My mom is a dork – that's all I have to say on that topic. :) She says to me last night "Oh this is a really cute quilt! It's a 9-patch." I peeked over at the computer and said "…yeah, that's the one I was quilting. You saw it already." haha It looks great! It's a perfect size, too. I need to get making myself one for snuggling on the couch with Brice. Your thank you was more than adequate – no toilet cleaning required. :)
Oh it makes me swoon. Love the green back.
Have fun with all your new crap!
Oh, how I love taking a freshly quilted quilt out of the dryer and seeing how it turned out!
LOVE IT!!
as always, i LOVE your color choices! great quilt.
This looks fabulous! HA HA on yer brother, that will teach him.
Love the quilt! Also love the color on the back. One of these days I want to try the Seeing Red quilt and the orange quilt – already used your tutorial to make a camera strap cover! Thanks for that!

The quilt is lovely! And good for your brother to have his picture in the blog :)
Really a nice quilt! Great quilt and great friend!
It's so fresh and lovely sashed in white. I really like the inner border you chose as well. Have a great time at the thrift store!!
The quilt looks great, but you need to give your brother flack for wearing sports socks and flip flips! Too funny.
I think your 9-patch quilt is just perfect!!! I like the scrappy border alot. It's just a little bit different then what most people have been doing with their 9-patch quilts. I followed the link to Christina's blog and sent her an email about her longarm machine since I'm just about ready to buy one myself. =)

FABULOUS! My 9s are sitting in a pile. I adore the rail fence…I always forget that pattern when I'm in the mood to sew but just want something easy! I'll be cutting this weekend! THANX!
