May Day

It’s MAY!  I love May!  Except it’s crazy town at my house getting ready for Quilt Market in 12 days.

I’ve been staying up way to late getting ready…

Hoopla blocks

…and dragging myself out of bed to get kids to school in the morning and trying not to look like a zombie Mom.  The trick is to wear workout clothes to school drop off.

All the other parents think I’m dropping off my kids and going for a 5 mile run…when really I’m going home and doing this:

Works like a charm.
I’m super close to having all of my market quilts and patterns and booths planned.  Then I’ll be able to cool it and breathe a little bit, and sleep when normal people do.
I might even take a shower and change out of my “workout” clothes.

Did I tell you we got a kitty?  His name is Wilson.  He’s so cute I can’t help but smoosh him in my face (don’t worry I’m a gentle smoosher).
We’ve had him for 3 weeks and love him sooooo much!

I'm going to try your "work out clothes" trick…..and Wilson is adorable. Maybe he will fit in your suitecase full of "Hazel" quilts and you can take him to market with you? xxoo

Haha! I love the workout clothes routine. I used to drive my daughter to Kindergarten wearing my PJs. I am not a morning person! I love Wilson. What a sweet kitty!

Smoosh that little kitty a lot . . . they grow up even faster than kids do. Good luck with Market.

Ha Ha, I just had the workout clothes conversation in my own head yesterday – I hadn't showered, so I put on workout clothes to run errands – that way I had an excuse to look bedraggled and to smell bad! I love that quilt you are showing – it will sell like hotcakes – your color choices are fabuloso! We got a really cute kitten, too. His name is Angus and we are all agog about him around here as well. But he is into absolutely everything! It's like I need to baby-proof the house all over! Wish I was going to market – have fun and good luck.

Wilson is so cute. You have a supervisor now. My cat will sit with me in my sewing room and watch. I love your morning outfit. Going to give that a try.

Love your honesty about real life!! :-) And you can only do that routine when your kids are little because when you get older you are going to need more sleep than you ever did before!! I can't get away with the 7 hours of sleep anymore and my body would be happy if I graced it with 9 hours!! Your fabric looks wonderful and the quilts look fabby: can't wait to see them when you post them for "show and tell" !! Hope you get some good sleep soon!! And your kitty is ADORABLE!!! It's a wonder you get any work done at all with him around!! Have a great time at market!!! Hugs, H in HeaLDSburg
