Dixie for Windham Fabrics

Dixie for Windham Fabrics

Can you believe it’s the last week in January??  I’m so glad.  I’m all for skipping the rest of this winter stuff and moving straight into spring and summer!   Speaking of summer…I get to share with you my 4th fabric line for Windham Fabrics, Dixie!

I knew this line was going to come out during the summer, unlike my other lines that have come out late in the fall.  So I went for bright and happy and summery!   I also wanted this line to coordinate really well with my previous line Hazel.  Dixie is more vibrant, more saturated, and has a little bit of Southern charm, but also goes well with Hazel.

Dixie for Windham Fabrics

My favorite print to use so far has been the tile print.  It’s a versatile basic in colors that should blend perfectly into your stash.  There will also be 108″ wide backs using the tile print…and I loooove not having to piece the backing.

Dixie for Windham Fabrics

This cherry print was based off a favorite feedsack fabric I’ve had for years.  I bought a swatch of it in Amish country at a swap meet when I lived in Ohio in 2008, and now it’s finding new life.  My Mom whipped out the cutest apron with it:

I will have more Dixie and projects to share in the coming weeks and months, but for now I’m just happy to finally share with you this line.  If only our weather outside matched it!

Dixie is available to quilt shops now through your Windham rep, and will be out in stores this summer.

Oh, that green. I can’t get enough!
By the way (dorky fan girl moment) I’ve made two quilts using your raw-edge circle tutorial, and they are two of my favorite ever! And the first was made with a pile of uglies and random novelty prints (and a little magic Denyse-Schmidt-makes-everything-better), to boot! Ya just might be a genius!

  30. Sandy Gray January 27, 2016 at 9:28 pm #

  51. Brenda July 6, 2016 at 7:39 pm #

Love these bright, summery fabrics – perfect for sewing for my 7 year old granddaughter!

  52. Pat July 7, 2016 at 9:55 am #

Hi, I love your fabrics & threads. Is a great idea to match thread with the fabric.
Have been quilting for some time & have used only white thread but of late been thinking of using colors to match the fabrics. This would be a great time to start.
    Thanks for sharing.
