Ombre Cascade

When I have a long demanding to-do list….I like to ignore all of my responsibilities and make a baby quilt for no reason.   :)

Pinks and purples are one of those colors I love buying, but I rarely sew with unless I’m making a baby quilt.  So I have a big pile of fat quarters and random pieces that needed to be used up, and this quilt was perfect!

Although I think it hardly made a dent in my fabric stack.

(That spool wreath that Keera made me is one of my most favorite things.  She has a tutorial here…I always get questions about it!)

I decided to only quilt the white and leave the triangles unquilted and a bit puffy.  I couldn’t decided how to quilt them at the time,  but I might still go back and quilt through the triangles with a pink thread.

The fabrics in this quilt are a big mix, but if you want to know the name of a particular print ask me in the comments.

The pattern is Cascade (paper version can be found here, PDF version here).

Happy October!!

Beautiful quilt! Love how it ‘flows’ from soft pink to the darker colours.

That is a very pretty quilt. Love the diamond shapes and your color gradation. Sometimes quilts are bossy and don’t care what you SHOULD be doing instead:)

Happy October to you too ! It’s kinda funny how giddy I get when I see your name in my inbox – I know it’s gonna be good. Love your quilt and your strategy for your to do list ;)

That is gorgeous – what a clever idea! (And I’m so NOT a pink girl, but it’s really cute!) I love the light turquoise on the back too :D

Thanks Julie! I’m not a pink girl either….which is probably why my pink fabrics never get used and the pile is so big! ;)

I love the pink and turquoise combo so much but I haven’t used it in a long time. Thanks for reminding me! Such a fun quilt, love the design! 😊
